I caught a silver perch today. But when I slit its belly, vanilla custard spilled out. Huh?
I licked my fingers clean.
Of course, I then craved taiyaki—a fish-shaped pancake with creamy fillings. Pressed like waffles, it’s best eaten freshly grilled. Divine!
I ran four blocks to the nearest vendor. Hungry, sweaty, and breathless, I ordered one taiyaki with custard filling. The sweet aroma was promising… My stomach growled in anticipation.
Out of view, I broke it in half—fish blood and guts ran out all over my hands. Argh!
I laughed though. There is balance in the world.
