Two nobodies sit in the train to Nowhere. The last passengers got off at the last stop, somewhere. They had places to be, people to see.

One nobody speaks to the other.

“Why are you going to Nowhere?”

The other looks around, shakes their head. “That place.” They gesture toward the back of the car and what lies behind the train. “It isn’t for me. Not my place. Not my people.”

“And Nowhere is?”

The train stops and the doors open to a black expanse.

The nobodies look at each other and let the doors shut with them still inside.
