The intercom system broadcasted the message once more. “Walk, don’t run. Observe all space station protocols as you make your way to the escape shuttles.”
Through the throng of workers and technicians, Sinkey Voss ran and shoved all in his path. His panicked run was in stark contrast to the order that surrounded him.
“Move!” Sinkey shouted as the “walk, don’t run” message blared again through the speakers.
“Hey, man,” a portal technician called, “no running.”
Sinkey ignored the message and the looks. As the shuttle maintenance tech, he knew only one of the eight escape shuttles was actually operational.
